Mountain Goat

In San Francisco, when the Walls are living in a house they rented, Jeannette is having trouble going to sleep because she is scared of a monster that might be under her bed. While helping her “monster hunt”, Rex calls her mountain goat, and this shows us that Jeannette just might be his favourite child since he only gave her a nickname and not the rest of the kids. The nickname symbolizes Jeannette’s endurance in the face of trouble; like a mountain goat, she is good at climbing mountains without losing her footing. She has the motivation to keep going and never give up.

  1. I totally agree with this post 100%, this photo symbolizes the description very well! I think that this photo relates with the nickname that Rex has given too Jeannette. I personally think that it is amazing you elaborate in your own thinking of Jeannette could be the favorite child, I like how you expanded that! I like what you said about the photo being so relavint to the nickname Rex, again has given her, and its a really good post, as you explained more. Good Job

  3. I like how descriptive this post is, and how you put in extra details that explained how the nickname described Jeanettes personality. When you said that the mountian goat represented being able to climb mountians without losing your feelings, i understood clearly that you meant Jeannette was a very strong person who is able to pick herself up and keep going.
